Quntz Studio is responsible for the development and design of the entire FLIR TRUWITNESS mobile camera system. one of the components in the system is the NEAR FIELD COMMUNICATION reader. At the beginning of the design of the device, we received the electronic components and designed around them several options that are identical in size. The customer receives a wide range of up-to-date options and we decide to progress together with one option.

See how the reinforcement ribs are used to support the electronic card and the bosses and snaps located in different areas. It is important to properly locate ribs and bosses because it affects the appearance of the product. Proper planning leads to good smooth surface.

An NFC prototype for FLIR TRUWITNESS system that came out of the plastic injection machine in China is at our desk in the studio, and has been extensively tested. We compare the design against the results. We find, for example, that not all of our demands related totextures partition have been made. In the picture you can see that there are also deformations above the surface around the logo. The product will be sent back to the manufacturer with requirements for improvements and updates. Sometimes we too in the studio will have to update the design.

In this NEAR FIELD COMMUNICATION READER prototype we received from the manufacturer, a number of areas were found which, according to an examination, were weak. In the upper picture, you can see that pressing the center of the product causes especially bending forces. In the central and lower picture, we explain to the manufacturer about the changes that need to be made in order to create additional reinforcement that will also prevent bending and will provide room for and support the electronic board.

TRUWITNESS security system design. When the prototype comes to our product design studio, we test it in a series of meticulous tests. In the picture you can see screenshots from our communication with the manufacturer. We decided, after examination, to raise the ribs of a single shell, while in the opposite shell, lower them. A final product comes to us from the manufacturer in China, and without a doubt, arouses great excitement. We witness the FLIR product when it is working, connected to a power source and doing its work faithfully, exactly as we expected. In product design there is no "cornering" when it comes to quality control. in the industrial design studio, everything is done to ensure proper serial production when one of several products come to us to the studio for quality control.
